eyeon software is keenly dedicated to the privacy of our clients. We maintain a strict confidentiality policy and do not share or sell your information with any other clients or third party vendors.

eyeon Software collects personal information from two sources:

   - Client registration/licensing
   - Downloading a free version of our software

Although we do use this registration information to contact our clients via electronic/regular mail, all such usage is subject to self-imposed restrictions, which are described below:
Client Registration
Client registration is required to use our software products, and makes you eligible for customer support, future upgrades, and certain sales promotions. When you register your products with us, you may be given the opportunity to join one or more mailing lists which provide information as well as update notifications to our clients on a regular basis.

You will never be added to a mailing list or marketed to via electronic or regular mail without your express permission. Your user account will always provide the ability to add or remove yourself from these mailing lists at any point in the future.
Eval / Demo Registration
When you download the demonstration/evaluation version of our software, we collect a certain amount of information about you. We use that information for two purposes, as outlined below.

To monitor downloads, and to identify demographics information used to enhance the demonstration version, such as (though not limited to) offshore mirrors, and foreign language support.

If you download the evaluation version of our software, we will contact you once using the method indicated during your registration, to request your feedback on the software, and to make you aware of current pricing, special offers and trade show appearances in your region.

No single contact obtained from a demonstration registration will be employed for the above purpose more than once, and once it has been used in such a fashion, all personally identifiable information relating to that contact will be deleted.
Tradeshows / Conferences
eyeon Software collects contact information from visitors to our booths and special events at industry trade shows. This information is obtained only with your consent, by the act of providing a business or electronic card, or by filling out a form with your contact information. We refer to such information as a 'lead'.

We may use these leads to contact trade show attendees with additional information, including brochures and literature, evaluation versions of our software, or special offers intended for trade show attendees. We will retain and use leads for a period of 13 months from the time of collection, after which any personally identifiable information will be destroyed.

All such communications from eyeon Software will include information describing how to remove your self from our leads list, ensuring that you will not be contacted again on the basis of that lead.
Purchasing Leads
eyeon Software may on occasion purchase third party marketing information, which contains additional leads. We will make every effort to ensure that such information was not collected through harvesting of the internet, usenet, or other discussion groups. We will employ these leads no more than four times over a period of a year, before the personally identifiable information contained in these leads is destroyed.

All such communications from eyeon Software will include information describing how to remove yourself from our leads list, ensuring that you will not be contacted again on the basis of that lead.
Web Cookies
A "cookie" is a small data file transferred by a web site to your computer's hard drive. We may send cookies when you surf our site, request information, or register your software. Accepting the cookies used on our site does not give us access to your Personally Identifiable Information, but we may use the cookies to identify your computer.

Many cookies are "session" cookies, meaning the cookie does not stay on your computer after you leave our web site or close your browser. The aggregate information collected permits us to analyze traffic patterns at our site. This can enable us over time to provide a better experience on our site by improving content or personalization and making it easier to use.

Cookies that remain on your computer are often called "permanent" cookies. These types of cookies are used to facilitate shopping or personalization and registration services. For example, cookies allow you to enter your password only once on web pages where a logon is required.

Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually refuse cookies or selectively accept certain cookies by adjusting the preferences in your browser. If you turn off cookies, there may be some features of our site that will not be available to you and some web pages may not display properly. Some eyeonline.com web pages and HTML-formatted email newsletters use web beacons in conjunction with cookies to compile aggregate statistics about web site usage. A web beacon is an electronic image, called a single-pixel (1x1), or clear-GIF. You may render web beacons unusable by rejecting their associated cookies. This data is not personally identifiable or linked to personally identifiable information. list, ensuring that you will not be contacted again on the basis of that lead.
Other
This privacy statement covers personally identifiable information, anonymous data collection and aggregate reporting. Personally identifiable information is any information that is associated with your name or personal identity. Anonymous (non-personal) information is data about usage and service operation, reported in aggregate, which is not associated to a specific personal identity.

If you apply for a job at eyeon Software, you provide your email address, educational and employment background, and job interest data. HR will not use personal data submitted as part of the job application process for any other purpose.

This privacy policy covers information collected from July 8, 2002 onwards. Changes to this policy will be posted on our website no less than seven days before they come into effect. This document is a statement of internal policy, and are not considered to be a contract of any sort. Where statements in this contract come into conflict with the written laws of the country of Canada, the law will take precedence.
