 Prime Focus Reaffirm Commitment to
Fusion
Prime Focus,
have reaffirmed their commitment to eyeon Fusion by extensively
increasing their worldwide pipeline. This software implementation
will also be increased a further 200% by the end of
2010.

has been the workhorse of our established VFX pipeline and our
new View-D pipeline and I am pleased that Prime Focus has decided
to commit itself to maintaining that key relationship with eyeon

Supercomputing Environment
In keeping with our commitment to provide the
world's fastest compositing system, we are proud to announce
the release of a supercomputing development environment that
supports OpenCL.
Industry partners
have eagerly awaited the release of this developmental
capability, especially as Fusion's new architecture supports
a tremendous boost in speed due to GPU
support.

Released
This build has
been updated with many new features and is Fuion 6.1's latest
maintenance release.
Some of the new
features include:

Stereo cameras
can now do ShiftLens offset as well as Toe
In.

New camera
preview controls to display Frustrum, View Vector, Near/Far
Clip, Plane of Focus and Convergence
Distance.

Spline updates
for copying and pasting points to the clipboard and between
splines.

Updated OpenCL
support and new
tools.

 Excerpts From The Beta Blog -
3D Stereo with a 2D Tool
"Here's
a quick trick: you don't need Fusion's 3D engine to get
stereo 3D. You can manage it with an instanced pair of 2D tools -
so long as they do 3D rotation :-) All you need to do is produce
two slightly-different viewpoints, and combine them. It can be
faster to render,
too."

 Jeremy Hughes - eyeon's
Artist of the Month
Jeremy Hughes
created a surrealistic music video, for RED's song, Ordinary
World. We talked with Jeremy about learning Fusion and using it
to complete this fantastic
video.
Here's a
taste of what Jeremy had to say about using Fusion on the
project: "I'm a bit of a junkie when it comes to
learning software but I thought Fusion was extremely easy to pick
up. The timeline was easy to understand coming from After Effects
and the nodes are so much easier to use than some of the other
compositing and 3D apps out there. It has a very intuitive UI and
something you think might work a certain way usually

 CineCrop Created With A Little
Help From Fusion!
Kert Gartner has
created his first iPhone app, CineCrop. This
application improves your photos by cropping them to
cinematic aspect ratios used by feature films.
When directors want to create epic, vivid feeling imagery, they
shoot their films with Anamorphic lenses. These lenses create the
widescreen look popularized by modern feature films. CineCrop
allows you to recreate this look by cropping your photos to
Anamorphic, and other cinematic aspect ratios. Read more
