Fusion 5.3 and Fusion x64 North American Roadshow

eyeon will be stopping in select cities in June for demonstrations of the recent releases, Fusion 5.3 and Fusion x64. 

New upgrades include: 

·          Multi-threaded particles

·          A Ranges Mask tool

·          A Sticky Note tool

·          A new Underlay tool

·          A new Variblur tool (for per-pixel variable blurs)

·          Filter modes for Transform, Merge and Letterbox tools

·          Plus additional UI enhancements and workflow improvements

As a separate release from Fusion 5.3, Fusion x64 will be able to break the current accessibility limit of four gigabytes (GB) of both virtual and physical memory. eyeon’s extensive developmental knowledge secures the benefits of multi-core and multi-processor systems. This enables Fusion artists to take advantage of more RAM and system resources for a more interactive scope.

Los Angeles User Group Meeting

The first ever Los Angeles Fusion Artists meeting will be held at RFX on Friday, June 20th between 7:00pm and 9:00pm. RFX, 748 Seward St., Hollywood, CA 90038. The user group is open to any compositor, of any skill. The focus will be on training, tips and meeting other artists. We intend this to be a regular event, either quarterly or monthly. (This will be discussed and voted on at the meeting).

This meeting will feature a training session with eyeon's Sr. Product Manager, Isaac Guenard, as well as a presentation by Aurore de Blois from BSGVFX in Vancouver showing how they use Fusion on television's hit series Battlestar Galactica. Additional sessions are planned, and TBA.

Aurore de Blois is Senior VFX Compositor with Battlestar Galactica's in-house VFX Dept. She has been with BSGVFX since the in-house Dept. began in the spring of 2005, completing 50 episodes to date. Aurore received an Emmy certificate for contributions to the Emmy winning episode Exodus Part II, and contributed to the VFS award winning episodes Exodus Part II, and Razor.
