What Is The Developers Version? |
 |
 |
In order to make development and testing of plugin tools for Fusion
even easier, eyeon Software is pleased to provide a developers version of
Fusion. The Developers Version is a cut down version of our software that
provides limited file loading and saving. No other image processing abilities
from the Fusion toolset have been included. You can use this version to load
and test your plug-ins in Fusion, without requiring a full license of the
software.
The Development Version of Fusion is licensed for plug-in development
only. It may not be used to produce final images for use in television, print,
film, multimedia or web based mediums. You may only use this software for the
purpose of developing and testing plug-ins with the native Fusion SDK,
AE Plug-ins through our plugin adapter, or via the OpenFX plugin SDK.

If you are interested in downloading the Developer Version of Fusion, you will
need to supply the hard disk serial number from your primary drive. This
version of Fusion is locked directly to this serial number, instead of
the usual HASP dongle. You can find this serial number when you first launch
Fusion Developer Version, or alternatively you can use the following method:
-
Click on Start -> Run.
-
Type in cmd.exe
and press OK.
-
Change directories to your primary C drive (cd c:\).
-
Type in dir
and press enter.
-
You should see the Disk Serial Number listed at the top of the directory
output, as shown below
|
If you intend to write your own native plugins for Fusion, you will need a copy
of the Fusion SDK, and your own Developer ID. The Developer ID is used when
compiling your plugins to identify your tools and ensure that they do not
conflict with plugins from other developers. A developer ID is not required if
you are developing plugins using the Adobe After Effects SDK or the OFX API.
In order to compile plugins for Fusion you MUST be using Visual Studio 6 with
SP5 (or SP4) and the Processor Pack. Visual Studio .NET and Visual Studio .NET
2003 are not supported.

The public mailing list at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dfsdk/
consists of other users of the Fusion API, as well as members of eyeon's
development team. We would recommend that you ask any questions about the SDK
here first. If the question consists of information you are not comfortable
sharing in a public forum, you can e-mail your question to
sdk@eyeonline.com for
assistance.
