Fusion® DFX+ 4 is the 8-bit expandable version of eyeon’s image processing software, Fusion.
DFX+ is also based on the new architecture of DF4 and offers a number of significant enhancements since its
predecessor, DFX, including the flexible flow, superior character generation, PSD import into separate
layers for animation, and more. Without sacrificing quality, purchase the core architecture of DF but pay
only for what you need. DFX+ has seven additional modules designed to answer specific production demands.

The following is a list of tools that are available for DFX+ through the purchase of individual modules.
Module 1 - Visual Effects
Track it, stabilize it, roto it, connect it... all together with calculations, expressions and interconnections.
New DF4 Tracker
· Tracker is used to automatically track a pattern in an image sequence.
· Unlimited number of trackers can be used in one flow.
· Tracking data can also be used to control other controls.
· Automatically track patterns and apply data to an image sequence.
· Made up of all tracking tools, Interconnections offer comprehensive tool control linking, including calculations and offsets.
Stabilize and Camera Perspective
· The new tracker also combines stabilizing and camera perspective capabilities.
Expressions
· Allow for very simple to highly complex algorithms. Modify parameter behavior with script-like expressions.
Letterbox
· A variety of uses, such as changing one image format to another (for example, HDTV 16:9 made to fit NTSC 720 X 486).
· Includes pan and scan capabilities.
Camera Shake
· Create hand-held camera effects and vibrational impact to image.
Trails
· Simulate the video trails effect of yesterday. Also handy for quickly creating multiple versions of a particular clip or element.
Module 2 - Keying
Get those tough stains out with Ultra Keyer, Difference Keyer and Color Corrector. Also includes Corner Positioner, Perspective Positioner, Fields Tool and Time Stretcher.
Ultra Keyer and Difference Keyer
· Automatically create mattes on a series of images, with optimized algorithms for handling footage shot over blue or green screens.
Color Corrector
· Based on the enhanced color corrector of DF4.
· Includes advanced control of hue, histograms, definable levels and blend of color correction and color matching.
Perspective Positioner
· Wobble and warp the image by animating the points over time.
Fields
· Facilitates the special handling or modifying of fields and field order in your footage.
Time Stretcher
· Manipulate the speed of a clip over time, also allowing speed ramping as needed.
Module 3 - Input/Output
Scripting
· The new DFScript of DF4 has been integrated into DFX+’s I/O module.
OMF Import
· Supports importing of Avid’s OMF file format via the loader.
Input/Output
· I/O batch capture video and SCSI tape I/O.
· EDL and Deck Control: control two video decks, one external VTR and one video I/O DDR.
· Batch capture clips and print to tape.
· SCSI Tape Device Interface is used to archive and retrieve images on Exabyte, DLT, etc.
· Get film-scanned images in and out.
· Fully compatible with SGI SCSI tape format and film scanning facilities.
Module 4 - 3D Tools
Avoid those costly time-consuming 3D re-renders. Mix 2D and 3D images together and move the 2D image in Z.
3D Z-Depth Blur
· Will do a variable amount of blur based on a Z Buffer.
Grid Warping
· Perform grid-based image deformations over an entire image or a specified region.
Shader
· Use the normals stored in images to reshade and light existing 3D rendered images.
Fog 3D
· Fog depth image based on the Z buffer.
Texture 3D
· Uses the UV texture coordinates to apply texture maps to 3D rendered images.
Module 5 - Network Render
· Complete DFX+ renders faster than ever with the reputed DF Render Node.
· Management capability to add existing licenses of DFX+ to a rendering task.
The base version of DFX+ allows full functionality to submit to and manage a network render. However, DFX+ will not participate in the
network render. Module 5 adds this functionality, allowing the local copy of DFX+ to participate as well.
Please note: Module 5 is not included in the DFX+ Module Bundle. DFX+ users not requiring network rendering will not need Mod 5. Module
bundles include Mods 1,2,3,4,6 and 7.

Module 6 - Paint
This fully integrated DF4 paint system offers leading paint capabilities optimized for DFX+.
· Excels in retouching, and rig and wire removal.
· 64+ bit painting and color, realtime RAM flipbook previewing and scrubbing, animatable/unlimited undos and fully-structured vector painting.
Module 7 - Particles
Another DF4 integrated feature equal to leading standalone imaging systems.
· This new particle system includes a full set of tools for 3D particles, rather than one tool with controls built in.
· With a particle-based flow, particle tools, modifiers and connections can be connected, then rendered, directly within Fusion.
