Courseware Edition 2 is a compilation of direct interface captures that follow the action of our artist through a highlighted cursor. The tutorials include
an introduction section defining preferences, workflow and interface navigation. The following chapters cover keying, expressions, tracking,
particles, color correction, effects masks and animation. These tutorials touch on more advanced techniques then those discussed in Edition 1.

Section 1: Introduction and Interface Navigation |
 |
 |
|
The Introduction and Interface Navigation series is a collection of 5 introductory tutorials that will help those who are new to Digital Fusion familiarize
themselves with the interface. These tutorials cover such topics as tool addition, bin creation, loading footage, tool parameter manipulation, interface
preferences and finally, building a functional flow.

The Effects Masks series discuss the essential process of masking in Digital Fusion. Masking, in a nutshell, is a process that allows you to
limit the parameters of a tool to a specific region. Follow our artist as he creates effects masks of various shapes and sizes and explains how
to manipulate individual points, entire mask regions, the finer points of interaction between multiple masks and much more.

Section 3: Keyframing and Animation |
 |
 |
|
Now that you can build a flow and manipulate content within that flow, learn how to animate the parameters of the tools within your project
for professional effects and custom content. The Keyframing and Animation tutorials explain the process of animating keyframes over
time, animating tool controls and manipulating keyframes via DF’s animation editors.

Section 4: Color Correction |
 |
 |
|
Color Correction is an essential process to any artist, and one of the core functions of a compositing application. Follow our artist as he outlines
the operations, features and benefits of the advanced color correction node in Digital Fusion. Everything from histogram manipulation to
color matching is discussed and most tool parameters defined.

Section 5: Particle Suite |
 |
 |
|
Digital Fusion’s particle suite is the most advanced native particle generator available for any software-only compositing application. The
diversity of tools coupled with the available wind, turbulence and force tools to name a few, offer unlimited flexibility for creating
effects such as fire, smoke and water. In these particle tutorials, our artist creates two simple particle flows for quickly generating
snow and rain.

Digital Fusion has multiple native keyers, each performing a slightly different function. Understanding when to use a certain keyer or
keying function is fundamental to an artist’s efficiency and ultimately their effectiveness. These keying tutorials breakdown such processes as
pulling a blue screen key in DF’s Ultra Keyer, using garbage mattes and matte controls to help integrate a subject
into a scene and chroma keying elements for use with effects masks.

Section 7: Tracking and Stabilizing |
 |
 |
|
Digital Fusion's tracking tools have been redesigned to incorporate all the necessary tracking, stabilizing and corner positioning functionality
into one tool. Tracking plays a vital role in contemporary compositing, and is a powerful addition to any artist’s toolset. The tracking
tutorials cover topics including single and multiple point tracks, applying tracking data to other nodes and finally stabilizing and
unstabilizing footage.

Expressions are a function within Digital Fusion that allows the artist to link parameters via a mathematical equation. This is another way
of representing the desired characteristics of a flow or effect. Our artist develops a unique text animation linking various parameters
via an expression to outline the power and usefulness of this important feature, while defining and navigating the parameters within the
expression control area.
