Occasionally the need arises to run a count down on a clip. Using the timecode modifier, and an expression this can be done. The following tip was posted on the Pigsfly mailing list, by Marty Fitzgerald.
I'm new to the list and thought I would introduce myself by helping with this one.
I think this works:
- Make a text+ object
- Right click in the text entry box and choose 'time code'
- In the time code options (under modifiers) right click on 'start offset' and choose to modify with expression.
- In the number out section of the expression, use this:
100-((time-100)*2)
Where both of the 100s represent your total number of frames divided by 3. So if you wanted to count down for 600 frames, the expression would be:
200-((time-200)*2), etc.
I hope that is what you were looking for.

*Note: Be sure to uncheck the frames button under the timecode modifier if you are looking for just a seconds countdown type.
Keep on Fusioning…
