You can get automatic motion blur on/off using Krokodove's 'probe' tool.

Assuming the Krokodove tools are installed:

In the merge fusion tab, RC on the 'Motion Blur' checkbox and 'modify with' a 'Probe'

In the modifiers tab/probe controls, drag your loader that is feeding into the merge onto the probe 'image to probe'.

In the 'value' tab of the probe, set the min and max to 1.0, and leave the 'out of image' at zero.

Now anytime the probe runs out of image, it sets the motion blur off. When the image is there and it reads anything at all, it outputs a value that means motion blur is on.

Does that do what you want? You could also connect the blend to the probe rather than the motion blur if you like.

cheers,
Grant Adam
